News after quite some time on this page, with one main message: We will soon move the domain to a new server, and to a newly designed site.
This appears for us a fruitful, exciting, fascinating time, the company has grown, and we were part of quite some interesting projects, in software development and sustainability research and consulting (areas: transport, waste incineration, energy, open source software, data formats, data bases). And we still are part of some ongoing projects, for example the openLCA project, and in projects with the German EPA. Results and background information will be available later on.
We would like to announce that GreenDeltaTC is, since January 2008, partner of PRé Consultants in Germany, and national reseller for Germany. SimaPro is at the moment the world's best selling Life Cycle Assessment software, and thus there is no great need to provide an introduction - however, we compiled some background information on a new site simapro.de. More is available at the excellent site of PRé Consultants. We were asked whether we would like to become the new partner, and we gladly accepted - how we think this fits to our open source dedication is explained at the simapro.de site. Feedback, requests, comments welcome!

The openLCA project gains momentum. Supported by PRé Consultants and PE International as members of the funding consortium, aim is to build a smart, modular, open source software framework for Life Cycle Assessments and related applications. More information is available at the project website.
Meanwhile, we released the format converter, a tool to convert important LCA data formats from one format into the other, as first module, as free software.
The software is available for download at the project's sourceforge site, at http://sourceforge.net/projects/openlca.
Participation in the project is still possible. Please contact us with any questions.

Time for an update. We thank our clients for interesting projects and for their confidence shown to us. Among others, we were part of the "Strommixstudie" in the German Network on Life Cycle Data, lead by DLR Stuttgart; a project with the aim to build the basis for a reliable, high quality dataset for the German electricity grid.
This year seems to have more conferences than usual.
We presented at the Eco/Efficiency conference in Egmond aan Zee, 29 June 2006, on " Cost data quality considerations for eco-efficiency measures"; the presentation was selected to appear in an upcoming special issue “Eco-Efficiency for Sustainability - decoupling economic growth and environment" in Ecological Economics, due by beginning of 2007.
At the Setac Annual meeting in Den Haag in May 2006, we displayed two posters, one on uncertainty quantification for the functional unit, and the other on the status of the review procedure for LCI datasets we developed for the German EPA.
Andreas Ciroth visited the EnviroInfo in Graz, in September 2006, and presented the LCA Evaluator as an efficient tool for supporting environmental, multidimensional decisions.
Recently, at the EcoBalance conference in Tsukuba, Japan (13-15 November 2006), we presented our new Open Source Project for Sustainability assessment. This project currently gains enormous momentum; we have created a separate website dedicated to it (to go online soon).
Finally, we would like to mention that the International Journal of LCA published an editorial by Henk Becker, of Utrecht Center for Applied Sociology, and Andreas Ciroth, about Validation in LCAs (or, rather: About the fact that validation for LCAs does not exist, strictly speaking). We think that this raises important questions concering the scientific validity of LCAs. The editorial is available for free at the website of the Journal.

WHY THE NAME..
GreenDeltaTC -
it's really simple
Delta: Stands for differences between decision choices, options, or very generally, systems;
GreenDelta: To address differences in environmental performance;
TC, finally, is acronym for Tools & Consulting, which means a conjoint, sound and 'symbiotic' use of technical (software) tools and human advice, consulting and expertise.
